TISC is seeking, energetic, motivated, and passionate Sailing Instructors for its Youth and Adult Instructional Sailing Programs. Several Part-Time positions are available, and 2-3 Full-Time positions may be available for qualified candidates.
Sailing Instructors are an integral part of the TISC community. Instructors interact with youth and adults in programs with various levels of skill-building, community-building, competition, and non-boating education. Sailing Instructors will run classes on their own and with the help of other staff. Instructors are expected to provide structured classes, including chalk-talks, land drills, instructor demonstrations, water drills and fun activities, coach on the water from a powerboat, and provide reporting on skill progress to other TISC staff.
Instructors in youth classes are expected to be excellent with children, enthusiastic and welcoming to all people, and sensitive to the needs of our diverse population of sailors and soon-to-be=sailors, including many participants with low water comfort. Instructors in our youth programs are also expected to have some facility with connecting STEM and other non-sailing topics to each days lessons. Instructors in TISC's youth programs are also expected to exemplify TISC's values of Growth, Resilience, Integrity and Teamwork in everything they do.
Instructors in adult programs should be comfortable in the adult learning environment, including giving longer presentations in the classroom, connecting participants short- and long-term expectations and goals to TISC's instruction, and generally helping to facilitate learning for participants have been away from educational environments for some time.
These positions will report to the Youth Program Director or the Executive Director.

TISC is seeking, energetic, motivated, and passionate individuals to fill 2-3 positions as Waterfront Coordinators. The position is part time, 2-3 days per week including Saturday and Sunday.
Waterfront Coordinators are an important part of the TISC community. "WC's" interact with youth and adult visitors to TISC and promote a safe and educational environment for all participants. The Waterfront Coordinator's primary duties are to facilitate kayak and paddleboard rentals, including assisting participants with launching and landing their rented craft, providing basic instruction in paddling, suggesting fun and educational excursions in Clipper Cove, and keeping participants safe on the water. Waterfront Coordinators should be very comfortable on and around the water, be enthusiastic and passionate about providing access to the bay, and are expected to exemplify TISC's values of Growth, Resilience, Integrity and Teamwork in everything they do.
Competency on a small powerboat is a requirement for this position. TISC can provide training for the right candidate.
